Hello everyone. All parts of the plant can be used in a tonic. The tonic is used to strenghten the digestive system and to help relieve indigestion. Sweet cicely can be made into an ointment and applied to arthrtic pain, bruises and gouty areas. A tea can be made out of some sweet cicely leaves. The tea can be sipped for easing wheezing, dispersing phlegm, and for coughs and strenghthening the nerves. Sweet cicely is also known as the sugar saving herb. It is benefical for diabetics and dieters. The seeds taste like anise. The seeds can be eaten like lollies. A lot of herbs can be grown in Australia. Most are easy to grow. A place to buy medicinal herbs from is Isabell Shippard's herb nursrey at Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. Have a lovely day today. Love, Peace and healing to you all.
