Medicinal uses of the herb mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris). This is a deciduous perennial that grows to 1 metre. There is a Chinese mugwort (Artemesia velotorum) too. This is an evergreen perennial that grows between 1 to 3 metres. Both mugworts have similar uses.
Sleeping pillows made with mugwort help with astral travel and prophetic dreams. It is an excellent remedy for all female complaints including menstrual difficulties and during labour. It is also effictive as a digestive stimulant. As it has a benefical affect on bile flow. Externally, it is used as a wash or poultice for rheumatism, gout, bruises, swellings, abscesses, carbuncles and tired legs. Use mugwort in a footbath for swollen, aching and tired feet. Other uses include: it is a herbal remedy for intestinal parasites in animals. It is a natural alternative to chemical drenching of animals. Mugwort is also a natural fruit fly deterrent.
