The medicinal uses of sunflower seeds

Posted on 26 September, 2014 at 19:30

Hi everyone. Sunflower Seeds Scientists have found that the oil from the seed is benefical for cleaning arteries and reducing blood cholesterol levels. The oil is made up of linoleic acid 60% and oleic acid 30%. The seed has a very high content of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin D. (Vitamin D allows calcium to leave the intestine and enter the blood stream.) It is an important food nutrient for building strong bones and teeth. The seed helps to strengthen weak eyes, fingernails, hair and skin. The seeds are used to treat coughs, colds and bronchitis (made as a syrup with honey). Leaves and flowers have been used as an infusion for malaria, fevers, fluid retention, bladder and kidney inflammation. Have a great day or night. Love, Peace and Harmony to you all.  by Lesley
