The medicinal uses of valerian

Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a lovely and happy day. All parts of the valerian plant contain chemicals that have sedative properties, with the concentration highest in the roots. Extensive research in Russia and Germany has shown the herbs effectiveness for nervous, digestive, circulatory and sleep disorders. As valerian targets the higher brain centres with a suppressing and regulating action to the autonomic nervous system.
